The anchor is the oldest published first-engine story not yet used. It stays on the site; it is only marked as used in a saga. Before writing, the anchor and its relatives are compared with published sagas: if the topic is already covered, the story is marked and the next anchor is taken (at most twice a night).
Picks the topic area (one of 5, avoiding recently used ones) and the anchor. Claude Sonnet 5 looks for related stories in the other eras: two independent calls with the candidates in a different order. A relative is accepted only if both pick the same one and both scores are at least 6.

For eras with no related story, a new dossier is written for the night's topic area; the anchor and its relatives get a new dossier on their topic (not the story itself). Past and present get documented history only; invented names and figures from the stories are not carried over.
